Established by the Law Society of Scotland in May 2016 as part of its work to ensure fair access to the legal profession, we have now supported more than 100 students over the past decade.
The Lawscot Foundation ensures aspiring lawyers facing socioeconomic barriers across Scotland can access a legal education.
Through financial support, mentoring and professional development opportunities, the Foundation supports students throughout their academic journey to their future career destinations. This is more than just helping people pursue a legal career, it's about ensuring Scotland's legal profession is accessible to everyone.

As well as offering financial assistance, one of our main aims is to support applicants to the Lawscot Foundation to develop their skills and confidence as they progress through their studies and into the world of work.
